I often get asked if I have a blog.  Up until now, the answer has been “no”, but I aim to change that.  Of course, this page will be the home for whatever I write (instead of Facebook or the dark confines of my aging secondary HDD), but what can you – the reader – expect from my page?  What types of things will I be writing about?  To be honest, I will probably write about whatever piques my interest on any one day, but I will most likely stick to a short list of topics for my regular posts.  These include:

• Writing.  I started this blog because of my writing, so you can expect plenty of posts about what I’m working on.  On top of that, I’ve been gaining lots of really good insights into the industry as I write and research how to go about publishing my work, so expect posts about that, as well.
• Video Games.  I play plenty of games, but rest assured that the posts surrounding this topic won’t boil down to how long I played any one game over a specific amount of time, or my wicked sick killing streak in Call of Duty.  Those things aren’t terrible to write about, but I like to look at games as art.  While they can be a very fun diversion, I find it interesting to look at the artistic aspects of the game I’m playing.
• Music.  I compose music occasionally, though I’m not extremely good at it.  From time to time, I might share a track or two and talk about the composing process.  Currently, I’m on a break from writing music, but expect a post on this from time to time.
• Cars.  I love cars.  I don’t drive anything fancy – right now I’m in a Volvo – but that doesn’t stop me from following the industry and looking at all the new things that come out.  I enjoy talking about cars and looking at them.  It’s also worth mentioning that my favorite TV show is/was Top Gear (RIP).
• Food.  I enjoy cooking.  My latest endeavor – the one I’ve been most passionate about since moving to Texas – has been smoking meats.  I do it often and love it.  I also take lots of pictures, so I’ll probably share those.
• Cats.  I have cats…they will be written about…probably.

For me, this blog is somewhat of an experiment.  I’ve never had a blog before and I’m interested in having a place where I can write what I’m thinking or feeling.  I don’t expect many people to read the blog, but it’s good to know that my words are out there, floating through the internet’s vast emptiness, somewhere between hubs of activity.  This blog is my island and, in time, will burst with the fruits of my labor.  If you read it, I thank you and hope you enjoy the content I post here.
