Side Job (149 words) – written 3/31/2016

“We’re going to what?” Collin furrowed his brow.

“Rabbit.”

“Rabbit?” Considering what a rabbit was, and their typical mating habits, Collin was suddenly concerned over the words use as a verb. “Can you…elaborate?”

“Yeh…we gon’ rabbit.” The squat figure stood on its toes when Collin’s expression didn’t change and pointed to a blueprint, its tiny voice rising in pitch. “Take stuff!”

“Ohhhhh…” Collin let out a sigh, suddenly relieved. “You mean rob it.”

The small figure cocked its head to the side. “Rah…bit?”

Collin shook his head and said the words again, placing emphasis on each one. “Rob. It.”

“Raw…bit?”

He let out a sigh. “Forget it. Let’s just skip to the plan.”

The small creature contorted its face in what Collin could only imagine was a frown. “We gon’ rabbit!”

Collin rubbed a hand across his face. He hated working with Ecchen. And worse…they actually looked like rabbits.
