The Dark (100 words) – written 5/10/2016

I remember when we lived on the ship – when there was no sun to warm us during the day and no light to miss at night. That was a strange time. My parents tried their best to fill the moments without light, but it was difficult. The Stars weren’t nearly as bright and their glow was soft, ethereal.

Now that we live here, I barely see them anymore. I miss them, but my parents don’t. They’re happy that we have open sky above us and a sun that warms our faces.

But I miss the stars – the ship – the dark.
