Hi again, everyone!
As usual, it’s been months since my last update, and TONS has happened. Mostly, life has been getting in the way of writing endeavors. Work has been sending me out to customer locations with increasing regularity and projects around the house have been demanding more attention than expected.
Then, I wound up injuring my back, which required time away from a sitting position. It’s still not 100%, but getting better every day. At least I’m back to where I can write without causing too much pain.
Past all that, I’ve managed to stay fairly busy with regards to writing (though how I’ve found the time still strikes me as a miracle).
Aiko’s Dive has been going out to agents for a few months now. It’s gotten some good traction since updating the query letter. But I’m sad to say that every full/partial has been rejected (so far). The most recent rejection included some feedback, but it’s so general I’m still not sure what, if anything, I should do with it.
Either way, I’m soldiering on with queries, making changes as needed. And, though I’m loathe to think on it, considering options for when I run out of agents to send the manuscript to. More on that bridge when I’m nearer to crossing it.
In other news, missing parts is progressing. My goal is to finish the manuscript by the end of the year. That means putting 20k words to paper a month for the next three months. It’ll be a hard push, but I think I can do it. Even then, some of the more recent chapters require that I make significant edits to the beginning of the novel. This isn’t something I’m worried about, but it will push the finished project sometime into next year.
And once it’s done, there’s something else already waiting in the wings. For now, all I’ll say is that it’s another YA title. Fantasy, this time! 😉
I hope to have some positive updates soon, but that does it for now. As always, thanks for reading, and I hope to see you next time!
